Who Am I?

Welcome to Backstage Pass! As you may already know from my About Me, I’m Victoria and one of my favorite hobbies is going to concerts. It is not a cheap hobby to have, but it is an addicting one. I was first bit by the concert bug in 2010 when I was 12 years old and went to see Justin Bieber perform at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY. (My actual first concert was the American Idol tour in 2006 but I don’t really count that because I can’t remember much from it.)

Since then, I’ve attended 26 concerts at 15 different venues. I’ve traveled to 4 different states to fuel this obsession and I don’t even want to calculate how much money I’ve spent along the way. But I wouldn’t take any of it back. In my eyes, (mostly) every dollar that I’ve spent was worth it. Hearing your favorite music live is an experience like no other.

The majority of the concerts I’ve been to have been pop artists, which makes sense because I mostly listen to pop music. However, that doesn’t mean all my experiences have been the same. I’ve been to venues like Gillette Stadium in Foxborough MA, which seats over 65,000 people, but I’ve also been to places like Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA where the capacity is 933 people. I’ve sat in the worst nosebleed seats in the last row of the balcony, incredibly far from the stage, and I’ve also been on the floor in the pit where I was less than five feet away from the artist. I’ve sat with friends, but I’ve also sat by myself. Each concert has a different story, and they’re all memorable.

This blog is for avid concertgoers like me, people who have never been to a concert before, and anyone in between! I’ll be sharing some tips and tricks on everything concert-related, such as the best ways to buy tickets and how to prepare for a concert. I’ll also be writing about some of my personal experiences, reviews of venues and performers, and more! Whether you’ve never attended a concert before, or you’ve attended more than I have, I welcome your suggestions, questions, comments, or any other feedback you may have!
